We've made it dramatically easier to get clients, stakeholders, and team members into your VR designs. Scan a QR code, and you're in.

One of the most common requests we hear from architecture, engineering, and construction teams is this: "How do I get my client into VR without making it complicated?"

Until now, that meant sharing a 6-digit access code, asking them to type it into the Meta Quest app, and hoping they got it right on the first try. It worked, but it added friction — especially during live presentations or when handing a headset to someone unfamiliar with VR.

Today we're shipping two updates that solve this: view-only mode for unlicensed headsets and QR code access for both 360° tours and 3D walkthroughs.

View-Only Mode: Let Anyone Experience Your Designs in VR

Not everyone who needs to see a design in VR should need a Sentio VR license. Your clients don't. A structural engineer reviewing a coordination model doesn't. A stakeholder on a construction site definitely doesn't.

View-only mode lets anyone with a Meta Quest headset access a specific 360° tour or 3D walkthrough using either the existing 6-digit code or the new QR code — without needing a licensed account.

How it works: Every design in Sentio VR has its own individual access code. When someone enters this code on an unlicensed headset, they get view-only access to that specific design. They can look around, walk through the space, and experience the design at full scale — but they won't see the full project library or VR tools that come with a licensed account.

This makes it ideal for client presentations, design reviews with external consultants, and on-site walkthroughs where you want to hand a headset to someone and say "take a look."

Licensed vs. View-Only Access

Capability

Licensed Headset

View-Only (Unlicensed)

View 360° tours

View 3D walkthroughs

Access via QR code

Access via 6-digit code

Full project library

VR tools (measurement, markup, etc.)

Multi-user collaboration

Offline downloads

For licensed users, the QR code works just the same — but you'll also have full access to all your VR tools including measurement, markup, collaboration, and your complete project library.

New: QR Code Access

Every 360° tour and 3D walkthrough in Sentio VR now generates a QR code alongside the existing 6-digit access code. Instead of typing in a code, you scan the QR code with your Meta Quest headset and jump directly into the design.

How to use it

  1. Open any design in Sentio VR and click "View in VR"

  2. You'll see a new QR code alongside the existing 6-digit access code

  3. Open the Sentio VR app on your Meta Quest (3 or 3S) and scan the QR code

  4. You're inside the design. That's it.

The 6-digit codes still work exactly as before — QR code access is an additional, faster option.

When to Use This

Client presentations: Generate the QR code before the meeting. When it's time for the VR walkthrough, hand them the headset and let them scan — no setup, no instructions to fumble through.

On-site design reviews: Print the QR code or display it on a tablet. Anyone on-site with a Meta Quest can scan and enter the model immediately.

External stakeholder reviews: Share the QR code with consultants, engineers, or contractors who need to review a specific design without giving them access to your full project library.

Internal team reviews: Licensed team members can scan the same QR code and get full access to all VR tools — measurement, markup, collaboration — on top of the design view.

Ready to try it?

QR code access is available now for all SENTIO VR users. Log in and click "View in VR" on any design to see the new QR code.
